June 15 was World Day Against Elder Abuse. For the past 6 years, Laval residents have been invited to take part in “Laval en marche pour la bientraitance des personnes a\u00een\u00e9es”, organized by the CCMVL (Comit\u00e9 contre la maltraitance li\u00e9e au vieillissement \u00e0 Laval).<\/p>\n

Marches were held throughout the region at 10 a.m.: CISSS, RPAs, CHSLDs, community organizations and groups of individuals marched in their sectors to raise awareness and show solidarity.<\/p>\n

Students from \u00c9cole Villemaire and seniors from CATAL, Manoir Th\u00e9r\u00e8se-Casgrain and Domaine des Forges.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last year, TRCAL initiated an intergenerational walk in collaboration with CCMVL, involving Villemaire elementary school students and CATAL (Comit\u00e9 d’animation du troisi\u00e8me \u00e2ge de Laval), and this year, 5 school-community center twinnings took part in the “15 minutes for June 15” event, mobilizing over 1,000 students, seniors and partners! Participating organizations were APARL (\u00c9cole Jean XXIII), SCAMA (\u00c9cole Saint-Norbert), CCRVA (\u00c9cole Arc-en-Ciel), CATAL (\u00c9cole Villemaire) and Centre Montrougeau (\u00c9cole des C\u00e8dres).<\/p>\n

Bandanas were handed out to participating children, and notepads with the walk theme and logo for seniors. A free virtual conference presented by Lucilab was broadcast at 1 p.m. on the theme: “Taking care of yourself, good habits to adopt”.<\/p>\n
